What makes a game? What is intelligence? What if your game was intelligent?
I created a performance piece for the first annual Rules & Play interactive art exhibit to explore what it would be like if a game had human intelligence. I played as the core of the machine using a simple word game that I could easily change the rules to, depending on what I thought would be more fun for the player. I would use human behavior in addition to the game behavior to change the dynamic of the interaction. For some people, I made their role more about the words and their meanings. For other people, I made their role more about their ability to act out their words. For some, I made them exercise their observational skills. The idea that the game's rules could change at any time made it unique to all of the players.
