McConnell Springs (https://mcconnellsprings.org/) is a special place for me. It was shown to me by two people I greatly respect as a place where I could go to recharge and be in a little bit of nature. It's such a hidden gem. The history behind it is rich, and the park is beautiful. If you're ever in the area of Lexington, Kentucky I highly recommend stopping by.
This image was taken at what is known as the Blue Hole.
The deep spring of water goes underground here and stretches throughout the area. It felt like a wonderful place for a water spirit to guard their territory from. The blue coloring of this image is meant to evoke feelings of water, and coolness. In the grander story of this series, this image gives a sense of protecting those that are yours to protect. You can also see the Moon in the background, tying it to another scene in the story. For me personally, I believe this image reflects the part of me that feels protective for my friends and loved ones.
